Position Specific Description

Join NextEra Energy and lead the operations, maintenance, and performance of the Dusty Rose Wind facility in Stratton, CO. As a Wind Tech Leader, you will oversee wind farm operations, drive safety excellence, optimize turbine performance, and lead a high-performing team focused on delivering exceptional results for our customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all wind farm operations, maintenance, and repair activities to maximize performance, reliability, and profitability.
  • Foster a world-class safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma initiatives and operational excellence projects.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top talent while supporting career growth and team development.
  • Oversee safety, environmental, financial, and operational reporting, including turbine availability metrics.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify and implement solutions that improve maintenance strategies, operational efficiency, and overall financial performance.
  • Serve as a professional ambassador for NextEra Energy within the community and with customers.
  • Ensure contractual commitments and performance expectations are met for customers and key stakeholders.

Job Overview

Leaders in this job provide the first line of guidance as the working leader for technicians who perform operations and maintenance support. Employees in this role schedule all routine maintenance, maintain parts inventory, monitor equipment performance, diagnose problems, and make recommendations to optimize efficiency.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in the selection and training of team members
  • Prepares and reviews administrative documentation relating to such things as time sheets and performance evaluations
  • Assists Site Manager in the preparation of reports regarding operations, maintenance, and budgeting
  • Maintains a safe work environment
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 5+ years in a technical field, OR completion of a technical certificate/degree program 
  • Valid Driver’s License (NON CDL)
  • Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet
  • Post-Offer Functional Capacity Eval

The base pay range for this position is $46.92 to $70.38 per hour. This range represents the expected base pay for a successful candidate and is based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, and internal equity.
