Position Specific Description

This position sits within the Solar & Storage Reliability Engineering team on the Performance & Data Infrastructure (P&DI) sub‑team. The role is responsible for Solar PV reliability and performance reporting for NEER and FPL, with emphasis on availability and forced outage metrics (EFOR, ALF, ALR). Responsibilities include metric definition and validation, data quality troubleshooting, and translating performance results into clear, decision‑ready insights. The position supports a recurring monthly reporting cadence up to senior leadership, including the EVP level within PGD, and requires close collaboration with Operations, analytics, and business partners.

  • Owns Solar PV availability and reliability reporting with strong discipline around accuracy, consistency, and deadlines
  • Defines, validates, and maintains performance metrics; troubleshoots data quality issues; acts as a data change agent and guides others when corrections are required
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning and guiding complex engineering or reporting efforts
  • Manages one or more programs of significant complexity and scope that support broader PGD and company objectives
  • Analyzes performance data to identify key contributors by site, region, and technology, and explains drivers and implications clearly
  • Communicates metrics, trends, and risks concisely and effectively to leadership
  • Collaborates closely with Operations (including Regional Reliability Engineers and plant leadership), CWE, NextEra Analytics, and Business Management
  • Demonstrates advanced Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP‑level functionality
  • Uses Power BI for analysis and reporting; Tableau experience acceptable as a proxy
  • Applies a Six Sigma‑oriented mindset to analysis and continuous improvement
  • Maintains strong attention to detail while managing recurring deadlines and evolving data
  • At higher levels, mentors others and helps establish best practices for Solar PV performance reporting
