Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is looking for a Principal Combustion (Gas) Turbine Engineer to join the Combustion Turbine Fleet Team (CTFT). This position will include responsibilities for leading technical support for a large fleet of combustion turbines, with ownership of troubleshooting, work/outage planning, fleet reliability improvements, and working closely with OEMs. Additionally, this role will include working on strategic initiatives with the ongoing efforts to reduce forced outage rates, O&M expense, and to improve overall fleet reliability and availability. Candidate shall have extensive knowledge regarding the operation and maintenance of a diverse OEM combustion turbine fleet. This would include a basic knowledge (to varying degrees) of all turbine / generator mechanical sub-systems, basic design, vibration, performance, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, outage practices, operational troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have detailed knowledge of the Gas Turbine and its auxiliary systems including but not limited to the lube oil system, hydraulic system, gas fuel system, liquid fuel system, and operation of the machine.
