Position Specific Description

Are you passionate about bridging the gap between cutting-edge artificial intelligence and real-world business impact? As a Product Data Scientist, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, working directly with customers to unlock the transformative potential of AI solutions tailored to their unique needs.

In this dynamic role, you'll serve as both technical expert and trusted advisor, engaging closely with customers to deeply understand their business challenges and identify opportunities where AI can drive meaningful value. You'll rapidly prototype innovative solutions, translating complex data science concepts into tangible demonstrations that showcase the art of the possible. Through compelling presentations and clear storytelling, you'll guide customers from initial curiosity to confident adoption, helping them envision how AI can revolutionize their operations.

Your expertise will span the entire customer journey—from initial discovery conversations where you'll uncover hidden pain points, to hands-on prototyping sessions where you'll build proof-of-concept solutions that demonstrate immediate value, to executive presentations where you'll articulate the strategic impact of AI implementation. You'll be the catalyst that transforms abstract AI capabilities into concrete business outcomes, making complex technology accessible and actionable for organizations ready to embrace the future.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for developing algorithms, modeling techniques, and optimization methods that support many aspects of NextEra and FPL business. Employees in this role use knowledge of machine learning, optimization, statistics, and applied mathematics along with abilities in software engineering with a focus on distributed computing and data storage infrastructure (e.g. “Big Data”).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops machine learning, optimization and other modeling solutions
  • Prepares comprehensive documented observations, analyses and interpretations of results including technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses
  • Works with a variety of datasets, including timeseries data and “big data” requiring analysis on distributed computing platforms
  • Writes software in R, Python or similar languages and contributes code to product development teams
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 2+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Doctoral Degree
