Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is seeking a proven operational leader to manage a large portfolio of solar and energy storage assets based in Blythe, CA. This position will oversee the Arlington, Blythe, Grace, and McCoy Solar & Storage cluster and will be responsible for supporting the solar and energy storage operations team across multiple sites. Under general direction, this leader will be accountable for all aspects of business and operational performance, including developing and leading a high-performing team, ensuring an injury-free workplace, and achieving all production, financial, and strategic targets. 

 

This position will lead a team of managers and requires demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to build capability within the organization while driving accountability and results. The role will oversee site operations, maintenance strategy, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and performance optimization across the portfolio.

 

The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience in power generation—preferably in renewable energy or energy storage—along with a strong background in operations management, financial performance, and team leadership. This individual must be capable of balancing day-to-day operational execution with long-term business objectives while partnering cross-functionally to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy production. 

Job Overview

This job leads a team involved in operating multiple solar storage sites. Under limited direction, leaders in this role manage all aspects of site business and operations, achieving all production and business targets while maintaining an injury-free work site.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance to all Power Generation Division (PGD) operational model processes 
  • Leads by example and emulates the PGD shared values
  • Ensures all business activities are conducted following corporate policies and are in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal permits, codes, standards, and regulations 
  • Monitors and Controls budget ensuring targets are met for their region
  • Oversees and approves procurement activities of the site
  • Leads, manages, and develops the team within their region.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 7+ years
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

 

The estimated base pay for this position is $139,200.00 to $208,800.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
