Position Specific Description

The Distribution Operations Department is looking for a Technician 1 to join their team in West Palm Beach, FL.  


This role supports the Distribution Management System (DMS) used by the Distribution Control Center Dispatchers/Switching Leads for restoration and supporting Feeder and Loop Distribution field work via switching orders.  The role involves using multiple systems (DMS, Work Management System (WMS), Design Manager (DM)/Electric Office (EO), Model Manager, AutoCAD, etc.).  The Operation Technician will be responsible for the as-built of all Feeder and Loop field completed switching orders in DM needing permanent changes in the grid, and processing correct posting of proposed/install jobs in the Distribution Grid via Model Manager to allow switching order requests.  In addition, the Technician will be responsible for making permanent updates to DMS and corrections to job prints using DM, as needed.  Position requires interacting with Distribution Dispatchers, Switching Leads, Designers, Production Leads, Managers, etc. 

 

Success in this role requires:


•    Experience with Design Manager (DM), and WMS
•    Experience with AutoCAD, and understanding Distribution Job Prints
•    Efficient in multi-tasking, and attention to detail
•    Experience with Excel
•    Supports Storm restoration at the Distribution Control Center (DCC)

Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for performing a full range of technical and operational tasks in support of the service center work flow and management. This position manages work request dependencies and tasks to ensure work flow progression and customer service required dates are met. Employees in this job ensure proper as-built and timely closing of work requests by reconciling and balancing material and labor and providing technical support for the service center.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Under general supervision:
•   Prepares job packages
•   Manages work request dependencies and task (requirements)
•   Manages and maintains 52 week calendar for resource availability
•   As-built work request for proper closing (labor and material)
•   Completes customer communication letters
•   Updates various databases (NJUNS, vault inspection, etc.)
•   Verifies invoices
•   Meets attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  High School Grad / GED
•  Experience:3+ years

Preferred Qualifications

•  Bachelor's Degree
