Position Specific Description

The ideal candidate for this role will: 

  • Provide mechanical design and develop new products for automotive equipment
  • Resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products working with venders
  • Develop and recommend changes if any for manufacturing processes
  • Identify and procure appropriate process equipment
  • Assist / Design moderately complex engineering assignments
  • Present design material to business units
  • Develop and maintain relations with individuals and business units within or outside his/her organization.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for providing project management and design services for distribution facilities as required. Employees in this role apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. The successful candidate is highly knowledgeable and proficient in the design of the Distribution System, both in new construction and maintenance activities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs work order assessments
  • Completes the most complex designs to meet internal/external customer needs and valid company requirements
  • Coordinates planning, organization, and implementation of engineering projects with other operating or engineering units
  • Evaluates distribution system capability to serve new load while understanding and mitigating potential future impacts of the new load
  • Provides and maintains cost-effective designs while considering the impact to the customer and valid customer requests
  • Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs
  • Serves as group leader and relieves supervisor as necessary
  • Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 5+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
