Position Specific Description
The primary focus of the technical training is computer diagnostics, repair and maintenance of medium duty trucks (Freightliner/International) and electric utility buckets and derricks (Altec/Terex). The role includes daily interaction with technicians to assist in computer diagnostic software/hardware, vehicle manufacturer’s web navigation and fleet system support. Daily activities include the assessment, development, and scheduling of in-house and vehicle manufacturer technical training for 85 FPL Fleet Technicians.
In addition, this position will manage FPL’s vehicle warranty program and the purchase of tooling and equipment for all garage facilities across the state of Florida. Basic Excel, PowerPoint, good communication skills, proficient in vehicle/equipment diagnostic software and vehicle supplier website navigation are essential for success in this role.
Job Overview
This job is responsible for providing technical support to the company’s garage network and administering effective vehicle maintenance and garage operations policy. Employees in this role ensure garages are maintained and operated in a safe, cost effective manner that complies with all local, state and federal regulations with a focus to reduce corporate liability.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Researches and develops vehicle safety related campaigns
- Provides technical and diagnostic support for all Fleet Services Garages
- Delivers mechanical and technical liaise to equipment manufacturers
- Administers preventive maintenance programs in Asset Works
- Develops technical specifications for the integration of new products and technology associated with fleet vehicles
- Develops inspection criteria for new vehicles and unique equipment
- Develops maintenance solutions in a cooperative effort with equipment manufacturers
- Maintains fleet related technical documents on SharePoint and the Fleet Bulletin Board
- Researches and implements maintenance programs that comply with the equipment manufacturer requirements and government regulation
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Experience: 5+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Technical Certificate Program
- Experience: 7+ years
- Commercial Driver’s License
- Certified Automotive Fleet Management
- Master Truck ASE Certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
