Position Specific Description

Key Job Requirements:

• The Materials Engineer in this position must have extensive experience with materials testing, selection, corrosion, coatings, and failure analysis.
• Must be capable of designing and carrying out product testing based on standards, as well as non-standard tests requested by internal customers.
•  Must be capable of troubleshooting and repairing lab equipment and tools.
• Must be physically capable of lifting tools and equipment up to 75 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 45 pounds, working on foot on uneven surfaces for extended periods, climbing and working from ladders for up to 30 minutes at a time, operate a forklift and man-lift, operate power tools and shop tools, and work with hazardous chemicals safely.
• Standard support for storm duty required.
• Infrequent travel may be required.
