Position Specific Description

The ideal candidate for this role should have a high level of proficiency with Excel, Word, and related vehicle design software including Auto cad and solid works. Experience with providing and maintaining cost effective vehicle/equipment designs while balancing cost and equipment efficiency to avoid negative impact to the end user is preferred. Candidates with a degree in mechanical engineering or a related field of study are encouraged to apply for consideration!

Job Overview

This job provides project management and design services for vehicles and equipment required to install and maintain the company’s electrical system. Employees in this role apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. Individuals act as a single point of contact for the development of complex vehicle/equipment designs to meet the company’s equipment needs for construction and maintenance of the electrical grid. This position makes decisions independently regarding engineering complexities and methods.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the development of vehicle/equipment specifications
  • Works directly with users to improve equipment designs and resolve equipment related design issues
  • Interacts with Integrated Supply Chain to execute the bid process to ensure the cost effective purchase of high quality equipment in the best interest of the company
  • Acts as the company liaison to vehicle manufactures and equipment suppliers
  • Supervises vehicle modification requests and chairs Vehicle Standards Committee
  • Oversees proactive and reactive communications pertaining to vehicle design scope
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
