Position Specific Description

This position performs as a lead engineer on major electrical commercial grade dedication (CGD) projects being performed in the CPED CGD Lab.  Produces optimum designs which result in improved performance at minimal cost. This position provides technical support/training to other engineers and acts as internal consultant on special projects.

 

This position performs a variety of engineering tasks that require extensive analysis and evaluation of components utilized across our enterprise. This position also includes responsibilities for technical decisions associated with important or complex projects to support the ISC business plan. This position performs general procurement engineering functions, with special emphasis on CGDs, Item Equivalency Evaluations (IEE), development of associated cost effective countermeasures, and providing expert advice for all CGD activities and quality control.

 

This position requires a demonstration of proficiency or ability to learn automated purchasing and materials management computer systems (familiarity and ability to use INDUS Passport/Ventyx Asset Suite is desired).  Direct experience in the electrical discipline is preferred.  This position performs CGD reviews, measurement, inspection and analysis and also provides support for testing activities being performed for CGD.  Direct experience with CGD, manufacturing processes, component and vendor quality control, and nuclear systems training is preferred.  This position may also require the individual to conduct “hands on” physical evaluations, testing or critical measurement of a component to establish necessary design and functional data. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

Direct experience in the Instrument and Controls (I&C) and Electrical disciplines is preferred. This position performs lead engineering support of commercial grade dedication for electrical components, production control and reporting of CGD activities.

This position has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments at the CPED CGD. This position will be a technical liaison to individuals within and outside his/her organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field.  

Provide technical support and training to other CGD engineers and CGD QC Inspectors and Technicians and acts as internal consultant on special assignments

Seen as a subject matter expert in most, if not all aspects of electrical CGD

Ensures CGD engineering documents will result in high standards related to technical and quality information supporting proper procurement and cost savings where appropriate

Ensure CGD activities are being performed to maintain plant configuration control

Perform lead responsibilities with little supervisor oversight

 

Requirements:

Demonstrated several years’ successful experience leading advanced complex electronic engineering projects. 

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; advanced technical degree preferred

Master’s Engineering or other Sciences desirable

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Bachelor's - Engineering
  • Experience: 12+ years
  • Nuclear Experience: 8+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's - Engineering
  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
