Position Specific Description

 

An Associate Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure smooth supply chain operations and adequate stock levels.

 

An Associate Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in a company’s supply chain by performing tasks such as:

  • Tracking and maintaining inventory records to ensure accurate stock levels and prevent shortages or overstocking 
  • Receiving, storing, and distributing inventory to appropriate departments or locations, including checking for damaged or defective items 
  • Processing requisitions and special orders, replenishing stock, and occasionally handling specialized equipment 
  • Conducting periodic physical counts and audits to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies 
  • Collaborating with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels .
  • Maintaining clean and organized storage areas and using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary 

 

A successful Associate Inventory Specialists typically demonstrate:

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to prevent errors in inventory management 
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting 
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify trends, forecast needs, and resolve discrepancies 
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments 

Job Overview

This position performs basic technical tasks of limited scope and routine nature, to support the daily warehouse activities of the organization.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Performs material receipt inspection, processes receiving reports, and prepares and processes unsatisfactory/non-conforming receipt reports
•   Coordinates material requests and performs inventory counts
•   Develops a working knowledge of electronic and/or manual inventory management systems
•   Develops an understanding of inventory variance reconciliation methods and processes
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
•  High School Grad / GED
•  Experience:0+ years

Preferred Qualifications


•  DOT Hazmat Trng Accordnce 49 CFR 172.704
•  Industrialized Powered Forklift Qual
•  Inventory Management:Without Rating
