Position Specific Description
This position will be part of NextEra’s Federal Regulatory Affairs team based in Washington DC. The FRA team handles all NextEra matters relating to regulation by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission under the Federal Power Act, Natural Gas Act and others statutes. The FRA team supports numerous business units within NextEra, and its scope of work includes utility and pipeline rate cases, FERC litigation, transmission and interconnection issues, enforcement and compliance matters, regulatory advocacy, utility mergers and acquisitions, participation in RTOs, market-based rate authorizations, reliability compliance, and support for infrastructure development.
Job Overview
Employees in this position are responsible for providing paralegal support to the company and for the attorneys within the law department.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Under limited supervision:
- Drafts and edits legal documents based on edits and input from corporate attorneys
- Participates in special projects or activities related to the legal discipline being supported
- Performs legal and transaction related research
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 7+ years
- Paralegal Certification
