Position Specific Description

 

We are looking for someone who enjoys a collaborative environment, inspired by helping individuals improve performance, and wants to join our team in North East Wisconsin. Point Beach is located 45 minutes south of Green Bay and a short drive from Manitowoc. Located on Lake Michigan the local area offers access to great outdoor activities, excellent schools, and an affordable cost of living, and some major sport franchises. Job Overview

Deliver integrated systems training to instruct employees in plant operations and prepare them for field or control room watch standing. Prepare employees for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) initial and requalification operator and senior operator licensing examinations. Participate in the design and development of operator training in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements. Design, develop, implement and present integrated systems training and initial operator and requalification training programs; effectively operates the simulator and classroom display instruction system according to Training procedures. Develop, administer, evaluate and record written and oral examinations to include simulator and plant observation, assess operator candidate knowledge of controls and systems. Revise instructional materials to reflect changes in plant design, current plant practices, regulations, and/or operating philosophies. Perform other duties as assigned and requested.

 

This position is represented by IBEW Local 2150. 

Required Qualification

  •  Bachelors degree in a technical field (e.g. Math, Physical Sciences specialty, Engineering) or equivalent education and/or experience. In absence of a degree, High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Minimum of three (3+) years in nuclear plant operations experience or as a Nuclear based instructor is required.
  • Must possess (or obtain) and maintain a senior reactor operator certification for the site where instruction duties are being performed and complete instructor certification requirement.
  • Plant specific senior reactor operator (SRO) certification as well instructor certification required to advance to other levels.
  • Candidates must satisfy all Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission security requirements.
  • Travel to support company objectives and act as a member of the Emergency Response Organization will be part of the requirements of this position.
