Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy's Power Generation Division seeks an experienced Inventory Demand Planning Manager to lead a team of analysts who provide critical data-driven inventory planning and purchasing support for our renewable fleet operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Renewable Site Support, this role requires a strategic leader who will oversee forecasting, planning, and execution of inventory purchasing while managing optimal inventory levels and parts planning processes across our wind, solar, and storage assets. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operational and supply chain teams to ensure timely parts availability, drive operational efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction through effective inventory management strategies.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements This position involves supervising materials management specialists and central distribution warehouse personnel while working collaboratively with Sourcing and Demand Planning teams to deploy renewable inventory efficiently across the United States. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in SAP systems with APO functionality, possess strong analytical skills to extract insights from large datasets, and have proven experience with automated warehouse equipment and inventory system planning. Core responsibilities include setting planning parameters such as min/max levels and reorder points, managing demand forecasts for O&M parts, monitoring performance metrics for continuous improvement opportunities, and leading strategic projects to enhance parts planning processes. The role requires excellent communication and presentation skills, a track record of managing cross-functional projects, and the ability to support financial decision-making while driving down total cost of ownership and increasing business unit productivity.
Job Overview
Employees in this position supervise the materials management team to drive the fulfillment of material requirements in support of business needs. Individuals in this role are responsible for the effective acquisition, management, and delivery of materials, supplies, and services to achieve competitive power production objectives for a specific business unit or customer.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises one or more Materials Management Specialists and other personnel associated with materials management functions
- Coaches and directs the materials management team to drive down the total cost of ownership and increase business unit productivity
- Acquires and manages materials and supplies for day-to-day and long-range requirements
- Forecasts and plans projected materials requirements and manages the pipeline of assigned materials activity
- Oversees and directs the development and execution of purchase orders
- Oversees the management of the supplier base, developing new sources of supply and monitoring ongoing supplier performance
- Increases efficiency by continually improving processes and procedures, driving standardization and eliminating waste
- Provides leadership in the development of department personnel
- Conducts business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for legal and environmental regulations
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 6+ years
