Position Specific Description

The Supplier Auditor is responsible for conducting comprehensive compliance-based audits of nuclear suppliers and vendors to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and NextEra Energy's operational excellence expectations. This role plays a critical part in protecting equipment integrity, personnel safety, and the company's license to operate through rigorous supplier oversight and quality assurance.

Job Overview

The primary role of this position is to plan and lead corporate and plant assessments for the business unit. Employees in this role perform individual investigations and occasionally lead small evaluation teams of fleet and/or industry personnel to identify performance gaps that impact nuclear safety and reliability.  This position also supports Nuclear Assurance in conducting audits and assessments.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluates organizational effectiveness to identify business unit improvement opportunities that impact nuclear safety and reliability
  • Writes assessment reports that recommend process changes or adjustments
  • Support Nuclear Assurance (NA) in audits and assessments
  • Leads small teams to gather process observations and develop recommendations to strengthen nuclear safety culture and practices
  • Analyzes plant data and conducts interviews and observations to identify issues and their causes
  • Establishes effective working relationships with assessment team members and nuclear site functional area managers
  • Identifies evaluation process and performance weaknesses and supports actions to address deficiencies
  • Communicates assessment results to team and plant management
  • Assists team management in preparing for assessments by gathering data and information
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 10+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Senior Reactor Operator Certification
  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years

Special Requirements

Nuclear Specific Requirements:

  • In absence of degree: 13+ years of nuclear experience and 4+ years of nuclear oversight experience

 

Nuclear Specific Preferences:

  • Experience with business unit practices, procedures, and standards in more than one work area: 5+ years
  • Trending, industry developments and benchmarking experience: 4+ years
  • Experience evaluating organizational effectiveness including nuclear safety culture: 2+ years
