Position Specific Description
This remote role serves the Florida Heartland, or South-Central Florida, a rural region centered around Lake Okeechobee, encompassing six inland counties: DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, and Okeechobee. Defined by its rural character, agricultural heritage, and tight-knit communities, this is one of Florida's most distinctive and storied regions. The ideal candidate is someone with genuine roots here — someone who lives in the territory, has earned the trust of its people, and brings firsthand knowledge of the relationships and dynamics that shape this part of the state. We're looking for a trusted community voice — someone with deep roots in the agricultural industries, rural government, and the unique stakeholder dynamics that shape this part of Florida. Success in this position requires the credibility that only comes from genuine community ties and a nuanced understanding of local priorities, relationships, and sensitivities. The EA Manager will oversee FPL representation in all county Emergency Operations Centers during storm activations and represent FPL at local government meetings, agricultural associations, civic organizations, and community forums — and will be expected to show up not just as a company representative, but as a neighbor.
