Position Specific Description

This position involves executing the routine inspection, analysis, and management of sheep and other livestock operating at a solar site.  Needs to have the  physical ability to safely handle sheep, lambs, and livestock guardian dogs and the knowledge of how to effectively utilize them as a means for vegetation management.  This position will be responsible for the overall health, proliferation, and effectiveness of the herd at the respective solar site as well as the site's overall vegetation management. Must be able to perform work independently within supervisded guidelines and in all weather, including extreme heat and cold.                                                      

Job Overview

Solar Utility Technician Leaders in this job provide the first line of guidance as the working leader for technicians who perform Vegetation management and Site Equipment PM work. Employees in this role schedule all mobile equipment routine maintenance, maintain parts inventory, monitor mobile equipment performance, diagnose problems, and make recommendations to optimize efficiency. Leader will ensure team is developed and using all processes and procedures.

  • Maintains a safe work environment

  • Assists Leader in the preparation of reports regarding chemical usage, maintenance, and budgeting
  • Ensures team is following processes
  • Ensures team has the right tools for the job
  • Ensures the reliability of the team 
  • Ensures team is provided with the proper training to perform their work
  • Communicates with his or her leader on day to day work of team
  • Coordinates work scopes with leader and direct reports
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
     

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 3+ years
  • Leadership Experience: 1+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
