Position Specific Description

Position will be based at the Big Cypress Solar Site located in Turrell, Arkansas.

 

This position sits within the Power Generation Division which is responsible for all of NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations, exceeding 40,000 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity.  This individual will lead the maintenance, electrical & mechanical aspect of the day to day operations for the solar sites in Arkansas which includes Big Cypress Solar, Stuttgart Solar & Chico Solar.  Limited travel between sites based on business unit needs. This position will be responsible for the transition plan from construction thru commissioning into operations of the site for Big Cypress Solar.  

Job Overview

Leaders in this role provide a first line of guidance for solar technicians. Individuals are responsible for overseeing a team of technicians involved in the operation and maintenance for solar collection assemblies on multiple solar power plants to achieve safe, efficient and environmentally sound plant operations. This position ensures the constant application of, and compliance with, company policies and administrative, maintenance, and safety procedures, as well as related accepted practices and letters of instruction.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition
  • Provides inspection of watch, electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting for a solar field and pipeline
  • Performs daily inspection for fluid system breaches, mechanical component breakage or misalignment, and electrical component failures preventing a collector or groups of collectors from tracking
  • Travel to other sites will be required
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 5+ years
  • Valid Driver’s License (NON CDL)

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
