Position Specific Description

Position responsibilities include planning, analysis, design and implementation support for modification and upgrade projects pertaining to wind turbine mechanical systems and equipment. Specific areas of focus will include wind turbine drive-train system, yaw system, pitch system, and hydraulic system.

 

Position makes decisions and recommendations having significant impact on extensive engineering and related activities of company. Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies. Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance. Capable of trouble shooting wind turbine mechanical systems, champions the quality process, design specialty tooling, and perform cost justifications. Responsible for one or more programs of such diversity and scope to be of critical importance to overall company objectives. Recognized as a subject matter expert.

 

Duties will include preparing project work scopes, cost estimates, schedules, reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, Bill of Material maintenance, and job traveler and procedure updates.

Duties will also include other associated activities as assigned.

 

Under limited supervision/guidance, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Use advanced methods and techniques that may require extension/adaption of theories, precepts, practices and/or criteria

  • Respond as needed during off-hours as power generation business operates ‘around the clock’

Employees in this entry-level role performs a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with Engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptations and modifications.
