Position Specific Description

The User Experience Design Lead is responsible for the creation and implementation of a cohesive UX/UI strategy for WindLogics’ energy analytics software. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and creating UX/UI features for an intuitive, cohesive and seamless user experiences across all our products and platforms.

 

Collaborating with teams of software engineers, business solutions leads and energy-industry executives, this role will heavily influence the way our customers interact with quantitative data relating to renewable energy. The role is responsible for identifying and designing solutions which serve WindLogics’ customer’s needs, goals and requirements for a seamless experience.

 

Duties will include:

  • Research and define user workflows to determine user interface content, data display and designs.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to understand business objectives. Clearly articulate and present design goals, process and vision to senior leadership.
  • Provide UX thought-leadership with a focus on displaying highly quantitative and statistical data.
  • Creating polished presentations containing analytical results, product overviews and business plans intended for internal and external audiences.
  • Work with peers and partners to contribute concepts to product strategy and influence decision-making as it relates to defining impactful user experiences.

 

Nice to have requirements:

  • 5-7 years in user experience and user interface design for interactive web applications.
  • Ability to distill complex problems and propose simple, elegant solutions.
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Human Factors or similar degree.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, wire framing and rapid prototyping tools.
  • Proven track record designing successful digital experiences.
  • Excellent writing, verbal, editing, presentation, and overall communication skills.
  • A talent for creative thinking and problem solving.
  • Energy industry experience
  • Experience with JavaScript or other “languages” to create prototype user interfaces is preferred, but not required

Job Overview

This job is responsible for creating great user experiences on the web and other digital channels. Individuals work cross-functionally and collaboratively to design the graphical user interface and experience for applications and web sites. Employees in this role guide developers through fulfilling the design experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with product management and developers to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience
  • Executes all visual design stages from concept to a collaborative hand-off with software developers
  • Conceptualizes original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Works with developers to modify HTML, CSS, and JavaScript concepts of web applications to align with designed experience
  • Demonstrates both user interface and user experience concepts to product management
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
