Position Specific Description

Join our New Product Engineering team to develop full-stack software solutions that power the energy industry's transformation. You'll work across the entire development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to implementation, using modern technologies including Python, AWS, and UI frameworks (Vue/React).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions for energy forecasting and optimization using Python, AWS, and modern UI frameworks
  • Lead technical architecture and design for software modules, potentially managing small engineering teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists and product managers in agile ceremonies
  • Mentor junior engineers and communicate project status to leadership
  • Build proof-of-concept implementations to validate research into viable products
  • Write technical requirements, documentation, and comprehensive testing suites

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 7+ years of software development experience

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Proficiency in Python and modern UI frameworks (Vue/Angular/React)
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code processes
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor team members
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and business stakeholders

Job Overview

This position writes and tests software to aid in development and support of products.  Individuals in this role work with Technical Leads on software system architecture and service design and typically leads a module in the system.  This position participates in required product development process ceremonies.  Employees in this role are responsible for writing and refining technical requirements and technical design documentation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Codes in multiple languages in support of software products and the development of software products
  • Conducts system testing and codes unit tests and support features
  • Documents technical requirement and other technical documentation
  • Works with product team to refine product requirements
  • Collaborates on high level software design projects and software system architecture and creates effective component level architectures
  • Leads software module construction from architecture and design to implementation and may lead a small team of engineers in building the module
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s - Engineering

 

The estimated base pay for this position is $122,400.00 to $183,600.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
