Position Specific Description
Successful candidate will work with the drilling manager to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations across multiple basins. The Field Drilling Manager will lead team of drilling superintendents and act as the primary liaison between the field and office ensuring efficient communication between both ends of the drilling operation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 – 20 years of field experience as a wellsite leader and superintendent.
- Drilling experience in Haynesville, Arkoma, Eagleford, and Permian
- Proven ability to manage multiple rigs in multiple basins.
- Strong leadership and professional development skills to coach and manage wellsite leaders and rig teams to achieve operational and HSE goals.
- Demonstrated expertise in well control, managed pressure drilling, drilling practices development, directional, mud, air drilling, and extended reach drilling
- Previous experience implementing drilling programs in new or unproven areas with limited offset control or support services.
- Strong leadership, negotiating, and communication skills.
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and Peleton Wellview.
*Standard, non-rotation work schedule with some travel required.
Job Overview
This job is responsible for managing all aspects of drilling and completion operations. Leaders in this role manage, schedule, and safely execute drilling and completion operations to ensure the efficient growth of the Company. The successful candidate achieves drilling and completions capital and schedule targets in the safest possible manner.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs and manages annual drilling and well completions capital budget
- Plans, schedules, engineers, and executes all drilling and completion activities
- Manages all drilling and completions well planning and engineering activities
- Provides accurate and timely well cost estimates and AFE’s (authority for expenses)
- Manages vendor and selection process for all drilling and completions services
- Develops and maintains an accurate drilling schedule for drilling and completion operations and ensure that it is communicated throughout the asset
- Ensures all operations have the ability to effectively discharge their well control responsibilities when required
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s - Engineering
- Experience: 8+ years
- Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
