Position Specific Description

This position performs a variety of engineering tasks that require extensive analysis and evaluation of components utilized across our enterprise. This position will support Seabrook Stations Structures Monitoring Program. Seabrook has recently received a renewed operating license extending the current operating license an additional 20 years (until 2050). As a part of Seabrook Stations renewed license.

Seabrook is implementing two plant specific aging management programs that monitor the impact of alkali silica reaction in concrete structures.

This position will be responsible for the implementation of field monitoring activities and analysis/evaluation of acquired data to validate Seabrook Structures remains within the established design basis. Civil Engineer strongly preferred

This position is located at Seabrook Nuclear Power Station in Seabrook, NH

 

Candidates must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered

 

  Some of the responsibilities for our plant internships are listed below:

  Key responsibilities may include

  • Analyzing concrete condition for compliance with station standards
  • Provides technical consultation to management
  • Applies nuclear industry standards and regulations to solve new problems and address situations
  • Serves as technical liaison within and outside business unit
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an undergraduate civil engineering program
  • Experience with concrete inspections
  • Familiar with American Concrete Institute ACI 249 code
  • Experience and Skills with MS Applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects
  • Completes challenging projects and assignments
  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
