Position Specific Description
Nuclear Operations Internship – Seabrook Station, Seabrook, NH
This year-round internship is part-time/remote during the school year and full time/in-person during the summer. It offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nuclear operations while exploring a career path toward becoming a licensed nuclear operator. The role is primarily remote, but interns must live within reasonable proximity to the site for required onsite work during college breaks and occasional field assignments.
Position Overview
As a Nuclear Operations Intern, you’ll work under direct supervision with our Site Operations and Engineering teams to support daily plant operations, maintenance, and system reliability. You’ll apply engineering principles to real-world challenges, participate in field walk-downs, and contribute to projects that enhance plant performance and safety.
This internship is designed to educate students about nuclear operations and prepare them for potential licensing candidacy. Strong presentation skills and a proactive mindset are essential.

- Location: Seabrook Station, Seabrook, New Hampshire
- Schedule: Part-time, year-round
Eligibility Requirements
- Actively enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s or higher degree program in:
- Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Maritime or similar technical disciplines
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
- High school diploma or GED
- Must live within commuting distance of Seabrook Station
Responsibilities
- Assist with department projects and complete challenging assignments
- Participate in field walk-downs and equipment selection
- Conduct system performance analysis and reliability assessments
- Review and update Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs)
- Support validation of operating procedures and maintenance routines
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and document plant changes
- Develop and maintain project schedules, report progress periodically
- Learn and apply safe work practices, including hazard identification
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Job Overview
This job is responsible for routine engineering assignments involving basic engineering techniques. Employees in this role apply practical applications of engineering principles, practices and procedures and work under close supervision with detailed instructions.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs data analysis and basic engineering tasks for completion of small projects
- Perform basic engineering calculations required for simple designs
- Collects and evaluates data to recommend a course of action
- Assists more experienced engineers in the completion of large complex projects
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad/ GED
- Enrolled in Bachelor of Engineering Program at designated university
- Junior year or higher program status
- Cumulative 3.00 GPA or higher
