Position Specific Description
NextEra Mobility is seeking a qualified candidate who is passionate about driving the clean energy revolution by accelerating the electrification of commercial and public fleets. To do this, we are looking for a strong applications engineering candidate who will help marry our deep energy markets, renewables and energy management expertise with the demands of commercial fleets and their existing fleet management partners.
As an Applications Engineer at NEER’s Mobility business, you will be asked to:
- Support all stages of the presales and business development efforts
- Develop effective case studies and customer facing presentation materials to support existing and new sales opportunities
- Use analytical abilities and customer interface skills to work cross-functionally, determine high priority initiatives and develop comprehensive proposals for internal and external approvals
- Work closely with customers, other NextEra teams and external partners to gather solution requirements, budgetary and timeline estimates for sales pipeline development
- Project manage all aspects of sales pipeline development, including customer research, technical requirements, onsite evaluations, forecasting, key metrics development and reporting
Job Overview
This position will be responsible for driving all aspects of early stage sales pipeline development that will serve commercial and public fleet customers as well as utility, muni and coop customers. This role will require a strong understanding of the solar, energy storage, and energy efficiency industries, and applying this knowledge to the identifying and targeting new growth opportunities.
Job Duties
- Methodically track all evolving and existing sales opportunities using CRM tools and developing key metrics for targeting high value projects
- Effectively drive sales pipeline opportunities from pre-sales to post sales commissioning stages
- Engage onsite facilities managers, fleet operators, local AHJs and utilities to capture all aspects of new project development requirements for fleet electrification
- Actively engage different stakeholders in key accounts to gather, analyze and develop sales proposals for review and customer approval
- Run collaborative exercises with customers and inside technical leads to capture all functional and implementation requirements for sales opportunities
- Develop monthly reports on sales and new opportunities at various sales stages
- Work cross-functionally with our E&C teams, product managers and inside sales support to lead all customer engagement initiatives from concept to execution.
- Define, track, and interpret key metrics to measure sales and customer success
- Be an active participant and contributor in monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EV industry infrastructure development; experience in the fleet electrification and electrical construction services industry
- Strong conceptual skills and customer engagement experience to effectively and quantitatively evaluate various sales channel development options in the context of metrics and projections related to customers, growth, revenue, competitive positioning and internal solution capabilities
- Strong time and process management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and successfully deliver on complex sales projects
- Strong understanding of hardware, software and installation requirements to enable fleet electrification projects for large and medium fleet operators
- Relevant experience in EV industry sales and field operations
- The skills to develop, implement, and manage scalable processes
- A positive attitude and a strong desire to always get the job done without compromising quality and customer satisfaction
- The ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team-oriented and fast-paced, start-up environment
- A high level of energy, motivation, initiative, commitment, and professionalism
Job Overview

This job coordinates allocation of resources, schedules, and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position participates in all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads and facilitates the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
- Coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
- Supports due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
- Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
- Assists in the construction of contractual arrangements for project development
- Participates in negotiating agreements with consultants and subcontractors
- Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
- Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

The base pay for this position is $81,600.00 to $122,400.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
