Position Specific Description

The Director of Transmission Origination will lead the development of new and enhanced transmission projects and actively participate in regulatory and stakeholder processes at the California Energy Commission (CEC), California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and CAISO. The Director will also collaborate with partners at NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) and work closely with the development team to identify and originate transmission opportunities in the CAISO and WECC regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the early stages of the project lifecycle, including identifying needs and solutions, conducting financial feasibility analyses, and engaging with regulatory bodies to originate new transmission opportunities for NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET).
• Support due diligence activities for potential partnerships and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the CAISO and WECC regions.
• Engage in relevant regulatory and stakeholder processes at the CEC, CPUC, and CAISO.
• Collaborate with NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) partners and the development team to advance transmission projects.

Location:

• Remote, preferably based in California (San Francisco or San Diego areas) or on the West Coast.

The base pay for this position is $172,000.00 to $258,000.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
