Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced principal level business analyst to act as a technical product owner for the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) networks and head end systems. This is a critical role required to drive the industry evolving AMI capabilities focused on real time accuracy. In this crucial role, you will serve as the dedicated product manager for the FPL AMI networks including smart meters, network communication devices, communication protocols, network design, network cybersecurity, and observability. The role also includes product management of FPL’s AMI head end system, associated technology stacks and software. Your mission will be to drive the evolution of the AMI network and AMI head end systems value proposition to strengthen current value stream capabilities, and enable the Smart Grid 2.0 new capabilities. This role crosses drives AMI technology and data over the product portfolio with responsibilities including driving agility and a product-based mindset, resource management, procurement management, process documentation, compliance, and financial management. The ideal candidate should have prior experience as a scrum master, business analyst, and/or product manager with a strong desire to grow and learn while supporting the product portfolio. Experience with AMI networks, AMI head end systems and back-office integration is key for this role.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a strong familiarity with business processes that are in their area of business focus

- Applies advanced analytical skills within functional area to decompose work into manageable value-based units
- Responds to requests, identifies conflicts, and makes recommendations where needed
- Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems
- Uses knowledge of business processes to identify interdependencies and functional gaps
- Builds strong working understanding of the technical solution being delivered and analyzes and determines failure points in the solution
- Contributes to the application testing process (directly or to support end users)
- Creates and updates documentation, as appropriate, for selected project framework
- Maintains a familiarity with market trends in technology
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
