Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is looking for a Senior Engineer for the Steam Turbine Fleet Team (STFT) in Engineering and Operations Support Services (EOSS). This position will include responsibilities for leading technical support for a large fleet of steam turbines both fossil and nuclear units, with ownership of troubleshooting, work/outage planning, and fleet reliability improvements. Additionally, this role will include working on strategic initiatives with the ongoing Reimagine and FCWE efforts to reduce forced outage rates, O&M expense, and to improve overall fleet reliability and availability.

 

The STFT Senior Engineer will work with plant personnel in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues and will own and be accountable for a number of key tasks including:

  • Lead trouble shooting and technical decision making for fleet assets, ensuring consistency across the fleet.
  • Manage documentation and currency of Engineering Requests, Work Orders, OEM Bulletins and MOCs in Maximo.
  • Actively participate in strategic/proactive efforts to improve productivity and advance fleet reliability.
  • Support parts planning and annual budget planning, ensuring that plans account for fleet lessons learned.
  • Support the nuclear fleet with during regular refueling outages and special turbine projects.
  • Off hour support- Typically involves fairly frequent phone consultations.
  • This position includes providing onsite technical support during outages as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Turbomachinery engineering experience
  • Field engineering experience
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and/or field experience
  • Strong communications/presentation skills
  • Six Sigma certification

•  Bachelor's - Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
•  Experience:5+ years
