Position Specific Description
Software development for data analysis applications intended to early detect or prevent power plant equipment failures and the development of software applications that utilize mathematical algorithms to detect the symptoms of failure. Additionally, work with power plant equipment engineers to develop software and automation solutions to increase productivity. Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Consults with supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments.
Typical duties and responsibilities include:
- Developing new and update existing software applications to support engineering process automation, predictive monitoring and data analysis of power generations assets.
- Work collaboratively with a team of data scientist to develop software applications based on necessary requirements gathered from the customers.
- The ideal candidate will have experience Strong knowledge of the Microsoft .NET framework and technologies such as AWS, Python, NodeJS, Angular, Jenkins, CI/CD, IIS, Ngnix, Docker, Serverless development, Apache, Java, JSP, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, cloud and on-prem application development.
- Position’s accountabilities include gathering application requirements, developing and supporting software solutions, and interacting and supporting an operations control center that runs 24x7. Occasional call outs or remote after hours software app support may be necessary.
Requirements:
- Must have strong experience in .NET
- Must have experience in either REACT or ANGULAR
- Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with database technologies, such as SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud platform, including familiarity with various AWS services like ECS, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
- Knowledge of AWS serverless architecture and experience with serverless computing using AWS Lambda.
- Familiarity with AWS SDKs and CLI for developing and deploying applications on AWS.
- Understanding of AWS security and compliance principles, including knowledge of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and AWS Key Management Service (KMS).
- Ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable and fault-tolerant applications on the AWS platform.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Provides full-time technical support to the operations and business unit personnel
• Performs system testing and documentation to critical systems during significant changes and/or upgrade
• Analyzes and identifies the root cause of - and implements comprehensive technical solutions to - complex application deficiencies and system issues
• Provides technical leadership in the functional specification, design and implementation of new (as well as enhancements to existing) security center applications and tools
• Develops new (and improves existing) processes with goal of increasing productivity, reducing risk of system failure, promoting efficiency in work flow, and meeting or exceeding the key operational performance targets
• Establishes, documents and maintains procedures and guidelines related to the day-to-day operational support provided to the operations and business unit personnel
• Travels to power plants for onsite troubleshooting support
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
