Position Specific Description

This position is part of the growing Third-Party O&M Services Team within NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division (“PGD”).

 

This role will work with the Development Organization, Legal, PGD and a broad spectrum of subject matter experts (SMEs) throughout NextEra Energy Resources (“NEER”) to support new deal structuring and pricing, commercial negotiations, and all other aspects of executing new O&M Services Agreements.

 

Ideal candidate will need to be commercially minded, detail-oriented with strong project management skills and can approach projects with creativity and entrepreneurial thinking. The individual will be interfacing with multiple organizations within and outside of division they support. The ability to build consensus and make quick, accurate and fact-based decisions are critical to success. Experience in a matrix environment is a strong plus, as is a high tolerance for uncertainty and flexibility to deal with unanticipated deliverables and tight deadlines.

 

Position Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of the day-to-day new contracting process to ensure timely completion, as well as a cost effective and competitive result
  • Support the negotiations of new O&M Services Agreements between internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Provide early-stage O&M Services support including financial modeling and pricing new opportunities
  • Act as a liaison between internal cross functional, multi-disciplined teams throughout the negotiation processes
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Ensure compliance with PGD’s internal guardrails and NEER’s governance standards
  • Lead and execute process improvement projects using Six Sigma principles
  • Develop broad technical and communication skills through self-study and internal and external training opportunities
  • Various ad hoc financial analysis as required
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or master’s in finance, Engineering, Business Management and/or CFA
  • Able to solve complex problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build relationships
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Six Sigma Certification; Yellow Belt or higher (preferred)

  • Provides information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues
  • Creates and communicates presentation materials for report out and updates with various levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducts external research and stays abreast of new developments or innovative advancements pertaining to the project
  • Provides coaching, leadership and direction to project team
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
