Position Specific Description
Serve as a technical lead within the Power Generation Division (PGD) Engineering & Operations Support Services (EOSS) organization, responsible for supporting and maintaining Operational Technology (OT) systems that enable the secure, reliable, and compliant operation of renewable, battery storage, and fossil generation assets.
This position will play a key role in executing PGD's OT Cybersecurity Program and strategic initiatives focused on the five cybersecurity functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover. Responsibilities include administration, support, monitoring, hardening, lifecycle management, and recovery planning for critical OT infrastructure and control system assets across the generation fleet. The role will support implementation and long-term sustainment of cybersecurity controls, resiliency improvements, access management solutions, asset inventory programs, monitoring technologies, and operational technology infrastructure modernization efforts.
The successful candidate will work closely with Cybersecurity, Controls Engineering, SCADA, Operations, IT Infrastructure, Compliance, Engineering & Construction (E&C), vendors, and plant personnel to ensure OT systems remain secure, available, and compliant while supporting ongoing cybersecurity transformation projects. PGD's cybersecurity strategy is centered on improving asset inventory, access management, system hardening, monitoring, incident response readiness, and recovery capabilities across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
OT Infrastructure Administration
- Administer and maintain operational technology infrastructure supporting generation facilities.
- Support installation, configuration, monitoring, patching, backup, recovery, and lifecycle management of:
- Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- SCADA servers
- Application servers
- Historians
- Engineering workstations
- Controllers and PLCs
- Data concentrators
- Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
- Protective relays
- Digital Fault Recorders (DFRs)
- Revenue and operational metering systems
- Network switches and communications equipment.
Cybersecurity Program Execution
- Support implementation of PGD cybersecurity initiatives including:
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- OT monitoring solutions
- Secure remote access
- Vulnerability management
- Asset inventory automation
- Backup and recovery programs.
- Assist with deployment and sustainment of cybersecurity technologies used within OT environments.
- Support cybersecurity assessments, audits, remediation activities, and corrective action plans affecting OT systems.
Project & Program Support
- Support strategic OT cybersecurity and resiliency projects across the fleet.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and vendors during design, testing, deployment, and support phases.
- Assist with development of technical standards, reference architectures, and cybersecurity design requirements for new and existing sites.
- Support IT/OT separation initiatives, OT resiliency projects, site security hardening programs, and centralized OT infrastructure deployments.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience supporting industrial control systems, SCADA systems, operational technology infrastructure, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience administering Windows Server environments, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, backup technologies, and network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3), control systems, and operational technology environments.
- Experience supporting or maintaining:
- HMI systems
- PLCs and controllers
- RTUs and data concentrators
- Protective relays
- DFR systems
- SCADA platforms
- Industrial networking equipment.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, access management, network segmentation, system hardening, monitoring, and incident response.
- Experience in power generation, electric utility, energy infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environments preferred.
- Familiarity with NERC CIP standards and OT cybersecurity frameworks preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
Job Overview
This position installs, configures, and maintains computing infrastructure, operating systems, and middleware products on all computer platforms, including mainframes, workstations, and servers - including web servers - in support of 24-hour-per-day, seven-day-per-week business processes.
