Position Specific Description

The Sr. Business Manager, Wind Operations will serve as a critical, data-driven leader responsible for transforming how the wind portfolio leverages data science, advanced analytics, and optimization modeling to drive performance and cost efficiency at scale. Operating at the intersection of operations, finance, and technology, this role partners closely with Power Generation, Business Management, Project Finance, and other cross-functional teams to solve complex, high-value problems that directly impact the economic performance of the fleet. The position is centered on developing and applying sophisticated analytical frameworks, including predictive modeling, scenario analysis, and optimization algorithms, to identify, quantify, and act on opportunities to minimize total cost and maximize asset value. This individual will architect and deliver dynamic dashboards and visualization tools that provide real-time, decision-grade insights into asset performance, operational risks, and financial outcomes, while also establishing scalable data pipelines and standardized analytical processes that enhance speed, accuracy, and consistency of decision-making. A core component of the role includes leading the monthly evaluation and communication of portfolio risks and opportunities in alignment with contractual obligations, as well as supporting complex investment decisions through rigorous data analysis and business case modeling. Success in this role requires the ability to synthesize large, multi-dimensional datasets into clear, actionable insights, apply advanced quantitative techniques to ambiguous challenges, and influence senior stakeholders across the organization to drive optimal, data-informed outcomes for the wind fleet.

Job Overview

Employees in this position support the overall P and L management of one or more NextEra generating assets or upstream/midstream assets that have achieved commercial operation. This role supports strategic decision-making with respect to such assets, including hedging, operations and maintenance. This role identifies opportunities and analyzes the impact on company financials to maximize P and L profitability.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages and improves the generating asset or upstream/midstream assets Profit and Loss including optimization of asset interaction with energy markets
  • Completes budgets and monthly forecasting, financial analyses, ad hoc reports, and modeling
  • Ensures compliance with power purchase agreements, land leases, financings and regulatory requirements
  • Works with teams throughout the company in a coordinator capacity
  • Maintains close working relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Monitors project operations
  • Conducts analysis on issues impacting operations and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Leads value-added projects such as supporting regional leadership in the development of strategic plans, mergers and acquisitions, project development, asset optimization, restructurings, and building relationships with off-takers, landowners, and state and local regulators
  • Trains and mentors Business Management Analysts
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
