Position Specific Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Substation Engineer to oversee document turnover and file management to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance. These projects are newly constructed substations within our renewable energy fleet. Key responsibilities include storing and managing test records, drawings, configuration files and ensuring compliance with NERC standards. This role will have a primary interface with the construction and design engineers working together to ensure successful projects. 


Accountabilities
•    Load all asset specifications into the Asset Management System (AMS).
•    Activate all required Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks for the site.
•    Support assigning PM tasks to their respective assets.
•    Store all prints in document management systems like D2/Documentum, including substation physical, electrical, relay, and equipment prints.
•    Enter site information into the AMS.
•    Record and store documentation of protection and control systems
•    Store configuration files for non-protection relays, including communication processors, meters, PLCs, and transformer temperature monitors.
•    Store all commissioning and test reports, including relay installations, equipment tests, and ground grid test reports.
•    Update the communication protocol tracking files.
•    Ensure transfer and storage of important regulatory and contract documents, such as FAC, MOD, CIP, and agreements like PPA and GIA
 
Capabilities
•    Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineer preferred, other engineering degrees considered with relevant experience
•    Understanding of NERC compliance requirements.
•    Work experience in substation engineering and management.
•    Experience with asset management systems and document management systems
•    Demonstrated capability in leading development and change efforts.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
•    Excellent communication and professional skills.
•    Knowledge and experience in power generation or renewable energy technology is a plus.
•    Expertise with Microsoft office suite.

 

Travel Requirements:
•    ≤ 20%
