Position Specific Description

Job Overview
NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a highly motivated and energetic engineer to join our PGD EOSS Solar and Storage Reliability team located at our PGA Office in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. As product owner and liaison for IT projects and applications, you will join a team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Solar and Storage Ops, IT, NEA, Business Management, etc.) to plan, execute, and deliver critical IT projects and processes to optimize Solar and Storage fleet performance, increase reliability, and reduce costs. 

The ideal candidate will be able to operate independently, creatively solve complex technical issues, be comfortable, and communicate effectively across organizational stakeholders at all levels. If you have limited work experience managing IT project, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Self-starter who acts as a single point of contact for critical IT projects for the department
  • Project management, negotiations, performance tracking and reporting
  • Develop engineering requirements and scope of work for IT projects  
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams
  • Develop and maintain metrics through a variety of dashboards for presentations
  • Manage projects in Jira, Confluence, and budget applications
  • Manage and coordinate with accounting on financial project tracking, including accruals
  • Communications, presentations, and meetings and support
  • Research, development, and accountability for UAT,  QA/QC and maintenance of all deliverables 
  • Work with other departments to establish customer requirements and project costs
  • Support and drive scalability projects to accommodate Solar and Storage Fleet growth
  • Drive automation and AI solutions for existing and new IT applications to improve efficiency
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Professional Experience: 7+ years
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills across various internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • In-depth knowledge of IT Infrastructure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with graphical data analysis
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and PowerBi), Jira and Confluence
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (<5%)

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Certified – Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) 
  • Experience in Solar Business Intelligence (SBI system), PowerBI, Java and Database architecture
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including, solar PV, and energy storage systems
