Position Specific Description
This position sits within the Strategy & Analytics group under Operations Integration in the Power Generation Division, which is responsible for all of NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations. The group focuses on operations & maintenance pricing management and PPA negotiations across our renewable and fossil operations, including wind, solar, and battery storage projects. Employees in this role lead the development and implementation of automated forecasting and analytical solutions that transform manual processes into scalable digital platforms. Individuals convert legacy analytical models into modern web-based applications with intuitive user interfaces, ensuring accessibility and accuracy for business stakeholders. This position identifies operational inefficiencies and develops technology-driven solutions, data analytics capabilities, and executive communication tools that support strategic decision-making across the organization. A successful candidate will bring the following skillset to the team:
- Proficiency with data analysis and scripting (Python, SQL); strong foundation in financial modeling, forecasting methodologies, and quantitative analysis
- Experience with web application development frameworks and cloud deployment platforms
- Working knowledge of operational cost structures, business process optimization, and cross-functional project delivery
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead technical initiatives, drive alignment across stakeholder groups, and communicate complex concepts to executive audiences
- Applied AI/ML for business automation and analytics, including problem identification, solution design, model implementation, and outcome communication
- Ability to operationalize analytical solutions into production-ready workflows with appropriate governance, testing, monitoring, and performance tracking
- Effective use of emerging AI tools to accelerate development, analysis, and reporting within organizational standards
- Responsible AI practices: awareness of model limitations, transparency for non-technical users, reproducibility, and comprehensive documentation
- Leads conversion of legacy analytical models into scalable applications with web-based interfaces enabling efficient data management and real-time analysis
- Collaborates with IT and business teams to deploy digital solutions accessible across the organization with appropriate security and governance controls
- Validates solution accuracy through rigorous testing, benchmarking, and stakeholder feedback
- Facilitates cross-functional alignment to streamline data exchange protocols and improve information accuracy
- Conducts user acceptance testing and develops training materials to support organizational adoption
- Identifies process bottlenecks and develops automation solutions to reduce manual effort and improve decision quality
- Builds dashboards and visualization tools that synthesize complex data for leadership consumption
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- Proficiency in Python programming and data analysis libraries
- Experience with SQL, database systems, and data visualization platformsMaster's Degree
- Six Sigma Certification
- Experience with energy sector operations, financial modeling, or project economics
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides full-time technical support to the operations and business unit personnel
- Performs system testing and documentation to critical systems during significant changes and/or upgrade
- Analyzes and identifies the root cause of - and implements comprehensive technical solutions to - complex application deficiencies and system issues
- Provides technical leadership in the functional specification, design, and implementation of new (as well as enhancements to existing) security center applications and tools
- Develops new (and improves existing) processes with goal of increasing productivity, reducing risk of system failure, promoting efficiency in work flow, and meeting or exceeding the key operational performance targets
- Establishes, documents, and maintains procedures and guidelines related to the day-to-day operational support provided to the operations and business unit personnel
- Travels to power plants for onsite troubleshooting support
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
