Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is currently seeking a PGD Engineer who can apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation. This candidate will be part of the Solar Fleet team focused on the DC field. The candidate  will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and manage improvement projects on Solar sites. This position requires supervision only related to high level objective and critical issues.

 Areas of responsibility will mainly focus on DC field generation system support and analysis, including but not limited to:

  • Manage capital overhaul projects and outage wheel for solar field
  • Managing a fleet of DC field component technology as a DC field subject matter expert (SME)
  • Assisting the operations team with general DC field support and troubleshooting
  • Conducting root-cause analysis (RCA) for critical or persistent issues at solar sites
  • Acting as the single point of contact for several DC field component manufacturers to provide support to the operations team

Desired qualifications are:

  • Bachelors or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience working in solar
  •  Has PMP certification ( Project Management Professional )

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs
  • Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field
  • Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Job Overview
