Position Specific Description

This Business Analyst position sits within our PGD Business Services group, specifically the Year One Site Integration team, focusing on completion of new site transition plans tasks and liaise with our Renewable Operations Integration stakeholders inclusive of wind, solar, battery storage, and distributed generation.  This position’s primary function is to ensure the success of each individual project in terms of completing transition plan tasks in a timely and efficient manner, enabling the success of the operations teams upon completion of construction. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform site-level financial forecasting and cost tracking in support of our operational partners’ proformas and budgets, providing ongoing feedback for model improvement,
  • Using data sources within SAP, manage the new site spare parts process from site construction through delivery, reporting out statuses on an ongoing basis,
  • Plan, coordinate and complete several complex long-term project(s) of varying scale, within budgetary and scheduling guidelines,
  • Manage all aspects of the day-to-day transition process to ensure timely completion as well as efficient and reliable outcomes,
  • Provides financial leadership by supporting Operations leadership in decision-making and strategy development,
  • Monitors, recommends, and implements changes for improvement, especially based on stakeholder feedback, 
  • Leads and executes process improvement projects using Six Sigma principles
  • Have strong prioritization skills, self-motivation, and can work with ambiguity,
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with multiple departments – Engineering, Operations, Business Management, IT – to effectively identify business challenges, creatively problem solve, and align on solutions that drive business improvement,
  • Extracts, organizes, analyzes, and reports data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions,
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Overview

This job assists in execution of the Corporate and NextEra Power Generation business processes. With general guidance, employees in this role are responsible for OandM and capital budget preparation and reporting, cash flow management, and financial analysis and reporting. Individuals plan, schedule, communicate, and coordinate the annual budgeting process, the monthly re-forecasts, and month-end close for the site, and ensure that all transactions are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Employees in this position also focus on the continuous improvement of spending, risks and opportunities, and costing methods in accordance with corporate policy and business objectives. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Performs all cost accounting activities including variance analysis, standard cost development, activity-based costing, and inventory control
•   Provides financial leadership by supporting Operations leadership in decision-making and strategy development
•   Supports new lines of business and finds ways to reduce overhead cost per job
•   Provides reporting and analysis for all operations activity including productivity, capital and overhead spending, forecasting, budgeting, absorption, sales, and inventory and operations planning
•   Prepares and distributes financial reports and indicators and explains financial results to non-financial audiences
•   Communicates and explains operational performance through Profit and Loss
•   Collaborates effectively with colleagues from all departments
•   Leads and executes process improvement projects using Six Sigma principles
•   Manages internal controls processes and identifies and mitigates control weaknesses
•   Extracts, organizes, analyzes, and reports data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions
•   Develops broad technical and communication skills through self-study and internal and external training opportunities
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
