Position Specific Description

Creating a talented, diverse workforce to assist NextEra Energy, Inc. succeed in the future energy services marketplace is an exciting prospect. Our employees will help differentiate the organization from our competitors.

Nature of the role requires maintaining relationships with multiple external companies and internal business units to help projects to completion.

Responsible for the development and integration of new or existing applications into the technical infrastructure and existing business processes.  Provides technical or functional guidance to project and work teams as needed within a specific discipline. Collaborates on an on-going basis with the RTS NEER SCADA Team. Analyzes designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, maintains and/or enhances existing or new systems and documentation that are reliable and efficient.

The candidate will have exposure to a wide variety of business functions including Power Generation, Asset Management, Power Trading, Remote Operations Control Center, Engineering & Construction and Development.

Potential Opportunities Include:

•             New Product Design - Research, conduct competitive analysis, plan for and/or assist in deployment of technologies focused on system management and automation

•             Digital Marketing and User Experience – Digital content creation. Using Google analytics and other tools to better understand customer interaction with web assets.  Working with business unit leaders to translate insights into improvements in user experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, along with proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Applicants should have experience working with others. Enthusiasm for the renewable energy space is appreciated.
• Our team codes in Python, C#, C++ and uses relational databases (Oracle), AIX, and Linux
• Applicants should feel comfortable with some of these technologies and have a desire to learn.
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies a plus.

• Assists department with assigned projects
• Completes challenging projects and assignments
• Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
• Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
