Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is seeking an experienced leader to lead a team of inventory demand planning analysts who provide data-based inventory planning and purchasing support to our renewable fleet. This position will report directly to the manager of renewable site support. This individual will provide quality leadership for the development, oversight, guidance, and timely remediation of issues for forecasting, planning, and executing inventory purchasing, managing inventory levels, and optimizing parts planning processes for our wind, solar, and storage fleets. Additionally, this individual will collaborate cross-functionally with operational and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of parts and materials, driving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. 

 

Preferred

•    Measure performance by utilizing key performance indicators, inventory metrics and customer feedback
•    Provide timely coaching and guidance 
•    Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets to derive insights and make data-driven decisions 
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization 
•    Proven track record of managing projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives 
•    Strong presentation skills, both written and oral
•    Lead a team of inventory demand planning analyst direct reports to:
o    Develop and maintain demand forecasts for major, operating and maintenance parts and materials across wind, solar, and storage 
o    Set planning parameters including min/max levels, safety stock, and reorder points based on forecasted demand and lead times 
o    Work closely with operational teams to understand demand patterns, inventory requirements, and operational constraints 
o    Utilize SAP with APO add-on to manage and optimize inventory levels and replenishment processes 
o    Monitor inventory levels and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings 
o    Lead or participate in strategic projects aimed at enhancing the parts planning and inventory management processes 
o    Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, logistics, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of inventory strategies with business goals and operational needs 
o    Manage repaired parts process and metrics
o    Support financial decision making for the fleet
o    Other duties as deemed applicable
 

Job Overview

This position manages one or more warehouses, supervises employees, appraises performance, and prepares budgets. Employees in this role supervise employees and / or other personnel supporting the inventory management function, including receipt inspection. Successful candidates provide a safe work environment for employees, and promote a positive safety culture.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coaches and directs the inventory management team, to drive down the total cost of ownership and increase business unit (BU) productivity
  • Communicates with customers and contractors through various activities, including receiving, warehousing, shipping, material issues/returns
  • Interacts with the supplier community and industry analysts
  • Manages and inventories assets, in accordance with Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) policies, practices and procedures
  • Maintains relationships with business units, to facilitate understanding of business requirements
  • Interacts with assigned operating business units, legal experts, and other ISC personnel
  • Ensures all required safety training and resources are provided
  • Enforces adherence to local safety policies and practices, including scheduling safety meetings, holding pre-job briefings, and conducting safety stand downs
  • Increases efficiency by continually improving the inventory management process, driving standardization of common items, and eliminating waste
  • Provides key recommendations concerning personnel selection and inventory management strategy, and assumes budget responsibility
  • Leads development of department personnel
  • Conducts business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for legal and environmental regulations
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience:5+ years

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bachelor's - Business Administration
  • Bachelor's – Engineering
  • Bachelor's – Sciences
  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 1+ year
  • DOT Hazmat Trng Accordnce 49 CFR 172.704
  • Industrialized Powered Forklift Qual
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
