Position Specific Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated leader to join NextEra Energy’s Threat Defense Services team.  The Cybersecurity and Technology Risk’s Threat Defense Services team is charged with proactive defense against global cyber threats targeting our Company and it’s interests. We are at the forefront of technological and resource capability, with a “won’t fail” attitude. In coordination with stakeholders, this leader will plan, develop, implement and manage the Cybersecurity and Technology Risk’s Cyber Assessment Program. The program will encompass full-scope assessment planning, coordination, and facilitation, to include table-top exercises, technical assessments and testing, emergency response and disaster recovery drills, and everything in between. The candidate will be challenged with establishing business relationships and cross-functional teams across all business units and lines-of-business to stress test, evaluate, and improve our Company’s capability to respond and recover from potential cyber attacks and disruptive technology events. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plans, coordinates, and facilitates Cybersecurity centric table-tops, drills, assessments, and testing which range from executive leadership level drills to technical penetration testing, threat hunting and Purple team exercises
  • Develops, implements and manages an assessment program, partnering with all aspects of NextEra Energy 
  • Coordinates, tracks, and reports after-action and lesson learned issues to improve the Company’s collective defense and recovery capabilities 
  • Presents to executive leadership and drives accountability for the Company’s cybersecurity defense posture
  • Partners and coordinates with US Government entities, third party vendors and private/public sector intelligence groups 

 

Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and analytical, project/program management focused
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement and process creation (Six Sigma certification a plus)
  • Must be able to translate technical security requirements to non-technical and executive audiences
  • Familiar with Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence and associated topics
  • Proven success in program management and drill/assessment planning
  • Capable of building cohesive teams of diverse skillsets and expertise
  • Applicable certifications a plus (CISM, CISSP, CPP, CISA, GSEC GSOM, GSLC, GSTRT, GCPM, CompTia Sec+, SSCPPMP, Scrum, Six Sigma, etc.)

  • Works with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in alignment with business strategy
  • Oversees value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to meet business needs
  • Supports and fosters innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation
  • Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments
  • Oversees development of processes and tools to automate code releases from development to operations (DevOps)
  • Attracts, develops and retains a high-performing and diverse team
  • Establishes and drives technology roadmaps that align with current and future business needs
  • Manages third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver project and operational support objectives
  • Ensures technology processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
