Position Specific Description

Our Fleet Services Department is seeking a Fleet Services Driver to join our dedicated team in Ormond Beach, Florida. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and committed to delivering excellent service. You should have strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Demonstrate and promote safe work practices at all times.
•    Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
•    Plan and execute transportation routes with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
•    Transport vehicles, equipment, and materials in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
•    Communicate effectively with supervisors, technicians, and customers to ensure seamless operations.

 

Additional qualifications include:
•    Ability to meet attendance expectations and respond to storm duty assignments.
•    Willingness to work extended hours as business needs require.
•    Valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
•    Tank Vehicle (N) Endorsement and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Endorsement strongly preferred.

Job Overview

Employees in this position provide vehicle and equipment pickup and deliveries throughout the FPL service territory.  In this role employees must be proficient in operating class 6, 7, and 8 trucks and trailers in an urban or suburban environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Picks up and delivers fleet trucks and equipment
  • Maintains and records all pick-up and deliveries in our Fleet system
  • Plans routes using maps or satellite tracking
  • Demonstrates ability to manually attach a trailer to a truck which could include lifting up to 70 pounds
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 5+ years
  • Commercial Driver's License
