Position Specific Description

The ideal candidate for this position will be able to handle and adjust program claims that may be complex in nature on behalf of Palms Insurance Company and Palms Specialty Insurance Company. It is expected that the Specialty Lines Claims Adjuster will be responsible for the following:

 

•    Oversee and monitor all aspects of the claim file handling of both in-house and third-party administered claims through diligent investigation and assessment. 
•    Strategically partner with counsel, experts and vendors to analyze and determine coverage, manage and evaluate the claim investigation and discovery while keeping internal and external stakeholders apprised.
•    Continually evaluate claims to set appropriate, and timely reserves over the life of the claim to reflect changes in exposure.
•    Advise claims management on strategy for complex loss matters.
•    Maintain accurate and updated claim files throughout the life of the claim.
•    Perform pre and post binding claim audits as needed and communicate the audit results to appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
•    Perform other job-related duties as assigned and necessary.

 

Qualified candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities:
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
•    Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of coverage issues, policy forms, contracts, regulatory requirements, and changing legal landscape for specialty line claims.
•    Understanding of technical claims proficiency and execution of Best Claims Practices.
•    Excellent analytical/negotiation skills. 
•    Excellent communication and writing skills with a strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with other departments, business partners and vendors.
•    Ability to resolve complex claims with minimal supervision.
•    Good critical and analytical thinking, advocacy and negotiation skills.
 

Job Overview

Employees in this job are responsible for handling property damages claims asserted by or against the company. Individuals investigate and evaluate each assigned claim to determine liability, bills, and/or negotiate satisfactory settlements of property damage claims when liability is found.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Under general supervision:
•   Investigates, evaluates and negotiates satisfactory settlements of personal injury and major property damage claims
•   Provides support and assistance to company attorneys throughout the claims litigation process, including court testimony
•   Provides support to peers, and training to new Specialists
•   Provides support and assistance to Service Centers to resolve claims matters
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
•  High School Grad / GED
•  Experience: 1+ years

•  Bachelor's Degree
