Manager, Insurance Claims – Property

Position Summary
The Manager, Insurance Claims – Property is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the property claims unit, ensuring timely, accurate, and fair resolution of first-party and third-party property claims. This role provides leadership, technical guidance, and quality oversight to a team of claims adjusters while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of property claims adjusters, including hiring, training, performance management, and development

Oversee the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of commercial E&S property claims from first notice of loss through closure including Affiliate Property claims

Monitor claims metrics, cycle times, reserves, and outcomes to ensure operational efficiency and financial accuracy

Review and approve reserves, payments, and coverage determinations in accordance with authority guidelines

Collaborate with legal counsel, outside vendors, TPAs, and other stakeholders on complex or litigated claims

Ensure compliance with state regulations, policy terms, and internal guidelines

Identify trends in claims activity and provide actionable insights to senior leadership

Support implementation of claims system enhancements and technology initiatives

Serve as an escalation point for coverage disputes, large losses, and complex claims scenarios

Prepare and present claims reports, loss run analyses, and performance dashboards to leadership
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field
-
5+ years of property claims experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
-
Active property & casualty adjuster license (or ability to obtain within 90 days)

Strong knowledge of property policy coverages, valuation methods, and claims processes

Proven ability to manage team performance and drive results in a fast-paced environment
Preferred

Experience with Renewable Energy claims handling

Familiarity with TPA oversight and vendor management

AIC, CPCU, or equivalent professional designation

Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages claims offices including investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of claims as well as managing third-party relationships that involve claims
- Manages internal team of claims analysts to support claims activities and works with claims adjusters to assign claim value
- Reports claims status, updates and resolution to appropriate financial and reporting team members
- Presents claims status, updates and resolution for quarterly reporting
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
