Position Specific Description

 

We are seeking a Director of Product, to lead the strategy and development of our product portfolio. Employee in this role will be in charge of the company’s information technology strategy and ensuring that it aligns with the company’s overall goals, while meeting the corporate standards.

 

Company Overview: Palms Insurance is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc., and manages both its Alien captive, Palms Cayman (which focuses on providing NextEra flexible and comprehensive insurance) and non-affiliate insurance entity Palms Specialty (a fast-growing specialty surplus lines insurer and reinsurer serving to further diversify NextEra’s overall insurance portfolio and contribute to overall profitability).

 

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced person with a strong background in the P&C insurance industry to drive the digital transformation, manage technological infrastructure and ensuring IT & Data governance. The ideal candidate will be responsible involved in setting policies, managing projects, and leading a team of technology professionals. This role requires both a structured thinker and a hands-on executor who can work across departments to drive clarity, alignment, and actionable outcomes by bridging the gap between business and technology functions.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the company’s product roadmap, including system upgrades, integrations and new technology implementations.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience and business growth.
  • Develop and enforce policies, procedures and standards to ensure data security, system reliability and work efficiency.
  • Oversee the management of IT operations, including infrastructure, applications and cybersecurity
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to identify and prioritize technology initiatives that drive business value.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in IT governance and security in India.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT department and across the organization.
  • Managing IT budgets, resources and vendor relationships to regulate technology investments and performance
  • • Lead and mentor the IT team, providing guidance, support and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze technology trends, advancements and best practices to keep the company at the forefront of innovation.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Solid grasp of data governance, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and data ethics.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience as a Chief Information Officer (CIO), IT Director or similar leadership role with 7+ years in management.
  • Strategic planner and thinker
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and technical leadership abilities
  • Prior P&C insurance industry experience is required.
  • Experience: 10+ years

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial and/or Specialty insurance experience
  • Program insurance and delegated authority model exposure is nice to have
  • Experience in project management and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework and practices.

 

Job Overview

The Director Insurance Operations will oversee insurance business operations across market segments. This role assists with the creation and management of shared-services operations as well as program and project management, system and process creation, financial budgeting and forecasting, financial and operational auditing, vendor management, capacity and resource planning, internal consulting and property and casualty underwriting operations support and claims administration.
 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the implementation of the insurance operations division objectives, provides leadership and facilitates work processes          
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the department plans          
  • Directs and manages the policy administration implementation and ensures proper documentation for NBIs, policy offers, issues, amendments, renewals, closures, etc          
  • Identifies, recommends and implements processes, technologies and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes, resources and materials use          
  • Oversees design and management of team quality assurance process, metrics and performance measures and Management Information (MI)          
  • Builds and manages a team to support the processing and administration of underwriting services           
  • Coordinates with leadership to develop business strategy and articulate action plans to drive the business focus towards insurance and risk products          
  • Develops and maintains operational dashboard of progress toward performance and quality goals, key performance indicators and service level agreements          
  • Establishes, communicates and implements operations policies, practices, standards and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution          
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and licenses           
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
