Position Specific Description
A leading residential clean energy solutions provider, EverBright provides a platform that designs, proposes and finances solar and storage projects nationwide. EverBright brings together finance and technology, to provide customers with an all-in-one solution for powering their carbon-neutral homes. Our mission is to be the driving force in the decarbonization of our planet by delivering accurate solar designs, affordable and flexible financing options, and the best service possible.
The Director of Business Development will lead a new team within EverBright responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing strategies to expand the company’s residential solar business into new markets. The Director will work cross functionally to design new commercial programs and products to penetrate emerging markets opportunities. Near-term priorities include launching EverBright’s virtual power plant and energy services offerings — your ultimate goal is to drive revenue growth and maximize the company's potential in this exciting and rapidly expanding home energy market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new market opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate and expand our business in the residential solar market
- Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue from residential solar and storage, including developing virtual power plants, creating new bundle offerings and identifying energy services opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new and innovative commercial offerings and products that meet the evolving energy needs of residential customers
- Perform market sizing, business case development, competitive analysis, and regulatory diligence to qualify new market/ product opportunities and inform go-to-market strategies. Monitor market trends and competitor activity, and adjust strategies and tactics accordingly
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships, including strategic alliances, joint ventures, and acquisitions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, energy retailers, technology partners, policymakers, and industry associations
- Manage the business development (new markets/strategic initiatives) team and provide leadership and guidance to ensure successful execution of business plans
- Collaborate with other departments, including finance, product, operations, and marketing, to ensure alignment of goals and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, business development, or related field, with at least 5 years of experience with distributed energy resources
- Knowledge of energy markets and solar, storage, and virtual power plants technologies and applications in the residential market
- Track record of success in business development and developing and launching new commercial offerings and products
- Strong understanding of energy sector financial and business models, current trends, emerging technologies, and commercial opportunities
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and solve complex problems

Job Overview
Employees in this role are responsible for leading and coordinating key functions of a project such as financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design, project legal review and financial negotiations. The position plays a key role in building strategic relationships and executing major contracts necessary to support the Company’s generating business growth initiatives. This role reviews and oversees the development of key project agreements. This role is responsible for all aspects of the business deal and will be involved in the closure of multiple projects.

- Delivers on contracting objectives and proforma requirements
- Delivers contracts that position the internal project execution team for maximum success
- Manages the contracting budget and schedule for assigned projects
- Provides periodic updates to and interact with senior management
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
