Position Specific Description

Leaders in this job provide the first line of guidance as the working leader for field service technicians who perform major maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generator sets. This includes the replacement or up tower repair of major components including but not limited to main shafts, gearboxes, generators, and blades across multiple platforms such as GE, Siemens, and Vestas. This is an 80% or more travel position.

Job Overview

Leaders in this job provide the first line of guidance as the working leader for field service technicians who perform preventative maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generator sets. This includes the annual maintenance tasks of major components including but not limited to lubrication, filter changes, heat exchanger cleanings, etc.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment at all times to encourage team adherence to NextEra safety policies
  • Provides technical execution guidance and support for a maintenance team
  • Ensures efficient, high quality, customer focused results that meet or exceed cost and schedule standards
  • Diagnoses problems and makes recommendations to optimize efficiency
  • Assists in the selection and training of team members
  • Supports field service technicians in the implementation of Six Sigma Quality tools
  • Assists the Regional Manager in the preparation and review of administrative documentation including time sheets, performance evaluations, reports, work schedules, and job cost estimates
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 5+ years in a technical field, OR completion of a technical certificate/degree program 
  • Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet
  • Post-Offer Functional Capacity Eval
