Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking an experienced individual for a Power Generation Reliability Engineering position for our operational wind fleet located on the West Coast. Ideal placement would be near our Mojave, CA cluster but we're open to Washington, Oregon, or California. Travel is required upwards of 40% within the region. The Power Generation Division (PGD) is responsible for a diverse generation fleet of nearly 50 GW. The fleet, which continues to grow, includes Fossil, Wind, Solar and Energy Storage Facilities.

 

The selected candidate will be a pivotal part of a dynamic, multifaceted team that ensures any known or potential issues is identified and remediated, as well as identifying any new or emerging issues for the wind turbines in operation. This role will require close work with the equipment OEM and the broader NextEra Engineering organization.

 

The selected candidate will develop domain expertise on newly introduced turbine system support, utilizing quality tools and principles in resolving technical issues that may arise during the initial operating period. Additionally, the selected candidate will help develop initial maintenance requirements and help ensure proper new project onboarding into and reporting from corporate data and asset management systems.  The selected candidate will support Fleet Reliability and Business Services in the development and application of component failure models to proposed new projects and technologies.

 

Other job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Oversees a variety of concurrent, high complexity projects
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis
  • Identifies issues and challenges, measures and validates results, and implements solutions across various stakeholder groups and internal customers
  • Provides expert information to internal and external customers on complex issues
  • Creates and communicates presentation materials for Leadership report outs and team working level sessions with various levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducts internal and external research and stays aware of new developments, innovative advancements, and emerging technologies pertaining to Wind energy
  • Provides coaching, mentorship, and direction to cross-functional teammates
  • Provides updates, feedback, and support to Regional Reliability Engineering initiatives
  • Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding Reliability Engineering efforts and activities of high importance to the business

•   Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

The base pay for this position is $92,000.00 to $138,000.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
