Position Specific Description
The Major and Governmental Lead Advisor for Miami Dade County will provide superior customer service to our largest revenue producing Commercial, Industrial, and Governmental account customers. This role will provide a highly proactive level of customer service to enhance customer relationships and increase customer satisfaction. The role will be responsible for developing customer advocates through their relationships, as well as leveraging those relationships to implement company strategic business initiatives where appropriate. The Lead Advisor should know their customer’s business at a strategic level and strive to become a trusted advisor in the customer’s eyes.
The successful Customer Advisor I will demonstrate a strong bias for action with proven ability to deliver results and earn trust at all organizational levels. You must excel at communicating effectively across diverse stakeholders, from frontline staff to executive leadership, while confidently representing the FPL brand at external customer events and industry forums.
This includes the following activities:
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within commercial, industrial, and governmental accounts.• Participates in weekly customer meetings to enhance revenue, grow relationships, and strategically identify opportunities for customer growth.
• Execute and deliver strategic customer plans to maximize customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customized energy solutions
• Encourage promotion and implementation of FPL programs, products, and services tailored to the specific needs of major customers, helping them achieve sustainability and cost-saving goals.
• Represent the company at industry conferences and networking events to enhance visibility, bolster relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
• Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively address potential challenges and opportunities for our major accounts.
This role demands adaptability in a consistently changing environment, requiring quick pivots to meet evolving customer needs and market conditions. You'll be responsible for managing and maintaining excellence in customer service delivery, executing proactive account management strategies, and driving strategic sales growth within your assigned territory. The ideal candidate will seamlessly balance relationship management with business development, ensuring both customer satisfaction and revenue objectives are consistently achieved. Your ability to build trust through reliable execution and strategic thinking will be essential to success in this dynamic customer-facing position.
Job Overview
This position strategizes, plans, organizes and monitors strategic buisness initiatives which span across multiple customer segments and are assigned to handle large Commercial Industrial and Governmental Accounts. Individuals in this role drive excellence in achieving business objectives and operational effectiveness, while continuously building excellent customer relationships and mentoring fellow Customer Advisors.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads value-added projects such as supporting regional leadership in the development of strategic plans, mergers and acquisitions (asset optimization), project development and building relationships with state and local regulators
- Maintains extensive knowledge of technical products and energy efficiency programs to develop and drive regional and enterprise wide campaigns to generate technical sales
- Develops, owns and delivers strategic initiative plans and presentations to business leaders at higher levels of management, including executives (internally and externally)
- Serves as lead, mentor and subject matter expert on all customer relationship management initiatives, products and services
- Leads the building of relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to improve retention across all business lines
- Develops and executes on strategic customer relationship objectives
- Interfaces with business unit leadership and process owners to drive efficiencies
- Manages multiple complex projects successfully at any given time
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 6+ years

- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree
- Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
