Position Specific Description

Job Overview
The Account Manager will be responsible for cultivating, managing and nurturing relationships with federal and military customers across FPL territory, ensuring their energy needs are met with the highest level of service. This role will involve strategic planning, project management, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver tailored energy solutions that align with federal objectives. This role requires an in-depth understanding of federal procurement processes, regulations, and contract management, as well as the ability to cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders within various federal agencies. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary liaison and subject matter expert for FPL’s federal customers on all aspects of account relationships to ensure high levels of satisfaction and service delivery
  • Stay current on key federal initiatives, including executive orders and legislative changes that influence energy policy and impact client accounts and service offerings
  • Ensure our services and strategies are aligned with federal energy policies, regulations, and initiatives.
  • Monitor Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clauses and regulations that could impact contracts and ensure service delivery complies with all legal and regulatory standards
  • Represent FPL on Federal working groups and attend federal contracting events and conferences to network and promote FPL’s service offerings to federal customers
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, FPLES, external affairs, legal, development and regulatory, to address customer needs and deliver solutions effectively
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and expansion by analyzing federal agency energy needs and proposing innovative solutions
  • Understand and navigate the complexities of federal procurement processes, including the GSA Areawide Contract, federal contract regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Develop tailored energy solutions that meet the specific needs of federal agencies, including energy efficiency programs, renewable energy options, and sustainability initiatives
  • Develops, owns and presents detailed reports and updates on account performance, energy usage data and compliance metrics to both federal and internal stakeholders

Job Overview

This position strategizes, plans, organizes and monitors strategic buisness initiatives which span across multiple customer segments and are assigned to handle large Commercial Industrial and Governmental Accounts. Individuals in this role drive excellence in achieving business objectives and operational effectiveness, while continuously building excellent customer relationships and mentoring fellow Customer Advisors.                                 

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads value-added projects such as supporting regional leadership in the development of strategic plans, mergers and acquisitions (asset optimization), project development and building relationships with state and local regulators 
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of technical products and energy efficiency programs to develop and drive regional and enterprise wide campaigns to generate technical sales 
  • Develops, owns and delivers strategic initiative plans and presentations to business leaders at higher levels of management, including executives (internally and externally)
  • Serves as lead, mentor and subject matter expert on all customer relationship management initiatives, products and services  
  • Leads the building of relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to improve retention across all business lines 
  • Develops and executes on strategic customer relationship objectives 
  • Interfaces with business unit leadership and process owners to drive efficiencies 
  • Manages multiple complex projects successfully at any given time 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned    

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 6+ years
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's Degree
  • Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
